Graphical abstract of the WISE algorithm divided into four panels, from A to D. Panel A is a cartoon representation of a molecular collision: two molecules approach each other from opposite directions to collide at a central point. Panel B is a plot on the complex plane illustrating the distribution of Weinberg eigenvalues. Some of them, marked in blue, are located inside a black circle with a radius of one, while the rest, marked in red, fall outside of it. A black path with arrows, labeled as contour Gamma D, encloses all Weinberg eigenvalues marked in red, symbolizing the isolation of the problematic part of the scattering problem. Panel C is a plot of the cross section as a function of collision energy. The points representing the results of the new WISE method perfectly overlap with the solid line representing the results of the commonly used coupled channels method. Panel D is a plot showing the algorithm's performance. The dependence of computation time on the problem size forms a parabolic curve, labeled as time proportional to N squared.
