Three-Million TEAM

Dr habil. Michał Zawada, NCU Prof. from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics is one of the winners of the TEAM programme, in which the Foundation for Polish Science supports research teams of eminent scholars carrying out groundbreaking research.

Under the TEAM programme the NCU physicist will obtain over PLN 3,180,000 for the implementation of his project A next-generation worldwide quantum sensor network with optical atomic clocks.

47 applications were submitted to the fourth competition in the TEAM programme. Eleven projects will receive financing in the total amount of nearly PLN 37 million. The renowned researchers will conduct their projects in cooperation with 23 foreign scientific partners, 6 Polish scientific partners, and 3 business partners from Poland. Funds obtained from the FPS will allow financing 50 job openings for researchers employed in projects, and over 50 scholarships for young researchers (students and PhD students) involved in the implementation of research.

The aim of the TEAM programme is to develop the R&D personnel of the R&D sector and support team projects conducted by outstanding scientists from all over the world (regardless of their nationality) in research units or enterprises in Poland, working in the most innovative areas and cooperating with a foreign partner.
