Similarly to last years, this year NCU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Informatics is running an international internship programe Toruń Astrophysics / Physics Summer Programe (TAPS 2019). Nine students from Poland and seventeen from abroad are carrying out research projects supervised by scientists from the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
The topics of the projects which TAPS 2019 participants are working on include: astrophysics and astronomy, quantum mechanical calculations, nanophotonics and quantum optics, atomic clocks, optical tomography and physics of antimatter .
In addition to conducting research, interns meet once a week to listen to lectures in English delivered by researchers from NCU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Informatics. This year lectures are given by dr Piotr Kolenderski, prof. Michał Zawada, dr Maciej Koprowski, prof. Ireneusz Grulkowski oraz prof. Sebastian Maćkowski.
