Prof. Szudy with Convallaria Copernicana

A special distinction of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń - Convallaria Copernicana will be awarded to the eminent physicist Professor Józef Szudy during the University Day.

The Convallaria Copernicana is awarded by the University Senate for outstanding contributions to science or for special merits to the development of the University. The name "Convallaria Copernicana" was proposed by Dr Cecylia Iwaniszewska. This woodland flowering plant (lily of the valley) is held by the patron of the university on several portraits. The statuette was made by Prof. Alicja Majewska from the Department of Sculpture of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
