Travel information:
Torun is located approximately 200 km from Warsaw and Gdansk, and about
400 km from the German border, and is easily accessible by car or train.
Closest airports with international connections are Warsaw, Gdansk and
Poznan. Express coach transport from Warsaw
Airport will be provided.
LOT - Polish Airlines has been appointed an Official Carrier
for the Conference and offers special discount of 30% on any published
fare and 15% off any special fare. It applies to all participants and accompanying
persons for round trip and one way tickets with departures not earlier
than June 13 when flying to Warsaw, and not later than August 6 when coming
back. To purchase a ticket with a discount it will be necessary to present
a discount certificate (sent with the confirmation
of registration ) at a nearest
LOT Office. We kindly ask all participants to contact a LOT office
to get details on schedule and make reservations.
Climate:
Summers in Poland are usually quite mild with temperatures about 20 C -
25 C (68 F - 77 F), the maximum temperature very seldom exceeds 35 C (95
F) with low humidity. However temperatures as low as 10 C (50 F), with
rain, can not be excluded.
Visa requirements:
an entry visa is usually not required to visit Poland for less than 30
days. This applies, for example to almost all European (all EC) countries,
and USA. In case of doubt, the Conference Office will be pleased to assist
with obtaining the appropriate visa. Those requiring a visa should make
application at their nearest
Polish Embassy or Consulate well before the meeting.
