Abstracts
Abstracts of contributed papers (in English) to be presented at poster
sessions should be mailed to the Conference Secretary by 15th April
1998 with a completed abstract submission form.
Abstracts should describe original and previously unpublished work.
They should be prepared in camera-ready form and limited to two A4 (US
Letter) pages following the instructions and example
located at the end of this document. The Programme Committee reserves the
right to accept or reject papers not fulfilling the above conditions.
All abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts which will
be included with the conference materials.
Posters
The size of the poster boards is 110 cm x 110 cm ( 43' x 43'). All posters
will be numbered according to their order in the Book of Abstacts. Thumbtacks,
tape and markers will be available in the poster area.
It is expected that all the posters will be displayed during the
whole conference, with the presenting author in attendance at the poster
session on the specified day: odd poster numbers on Thursday, 23th and
even numbers on Friday, 24th.
Contributed Papers
All participants are kindly invited to submit an article based on their
conference contribution.
These papers will be published, after peer review, in
Three copies of the manuscript, prepared according to the particular journal
requirements, should be delivered to the organising committee by July
27, 1998 at the latest.
Abstract preparation rules:

The complete abstract should be contained within the boundaries of 160
mm (6.3') width by 240 mm (9.45') height placed with 25 mm (1') left and
upper margins on a sheet of paper A4 size (210 x 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5
x 11').

A legible typeface should be used, preferably Times New Roman, with 12
pt characters for both title and text. Single line spacing should
be used for the body of the abstract. 1.5 line spacing should separate
title, authors, and the body.

The header of the abstract should printed in bold typeface and arranged
as follows:
Title should be in capital letters and centered.
The name of the presenting author should be underlined
Affiliations with full address should be given, possibly with
the e-mail address and fax number.

First line of the abstract text should be indented. If possible,
full justification is prefered.

Additional paragraphs should be formatted by indenting the first line.

Clear tables or diagrams may be included, if desired.

Mathematical symbols, if possible, should be produced by a word processor
package or carefully hand-written in Indian ink.

The list of references should follow rules usesd in the Journal
of Fluorescence (see example).
All abstracts should be mailed in an envelope containing a stiff sheet
of cardboard with the abstract submission form to the conference office
before 15 April 1998 (as postmarked). To keep the above deadline, abstracts
and forms can be sent by fax in parallel with the mailed original version.
Every participant is encouraged to submit also a concise
version of his/her abstract for access from the Conference Word Wide Web
page: http:/www.phys.uni.torun.pl/~lum98. These documents should be plain
text (ASCII) files, no more then 300 words long, sent by e-mail to the
conference office at: lum98@phys.uni.torun.pl.

abstracts will be reproduced
by photographic reduction (to 80% of original size) use a printer,
laser recomended, or typewriter that produces a sharp,
black image. Dot matrix printout will not reproduce well.
The next paragraph is indented.
References [1] should be grouped at the end of the text. Check the examples
below.
